Our Story

2016

COLTS ARE FOUNDED

A group of likeminded parents came together to set up a community football club in spring 2016.
The team was created entirely for the benefit of the children who play in it.
It was unique in a number of ways; the children were from different backgrounds and ability but with a common goal of developing new life and social skills, based around the principles of fair play and the enjoyment of football irrespective of ability, gender, race, colour or religion.

FOUNDATIONS OF THE CLUB

From the first day the children were the focus of our club. They chose the name, designed the badge and strips and the club listen to their views on how things are run.

What happens on the pitch was deliberately separated from the administration of the club.
Coaches are volunteers, no parents are coaches, the club is administered by a committee made up of parents.

The children originally trained in Clarkston, Airdrie and still do.

Our first set of strips were kindly donated by another Clarkston club, which sadly folded a few years ago. That is why the children chose the name Clarkston Colts

COLTS ADD AGE GROUP

As part of the continuing development of the club, Clarkston Colts were delighted to create a 2009s team.

The younger age group would work closely with our existing 2007s to help with the growth of all players.
Ashley Neil was recruited to lead the new side, affectionately knowns as the 'Mini Colts'.
