Friendly vs Shotts Bon Accord
Today we welcomed over Shotts Bon Accord for a end of year friendly game, in what turned out to be really enjoyable game with both teams players giving their all.
The Colts boys again showed what they were all about playing with an energy and not giving up. They were showed their excellent attacking team football and pressing the Shotts team high up the park, even when the boys had to defended, they did with real composure and managed to turn defence into attack very quickly in the transition which had led to creating great opportunities. It almost felt like a game of 2 half's where we struggled to take our chances in the first half and then finished with some style in the second half.
As usual in friendly games we have took the opportunity to try players in different positions to help with their development and they players have done amazing in the their approach with the correct attitude and effort with no complaints at all.
As it was our last game of 2025, Sam and I chose today's POTM, both were chosen not just based on this match but as an accumulation of how well these players have done over the past few weeks. My choice was Jacob, it has been great watching Jacob over the past few weeks his improvement has been great and to finally see him score a goal for his reward was brilliant. Sam has chosen Ozzy, Ozzy has developed really well and has found himself as an established defender, playing out from the back and has made some great last ditch tackles and a few goal line clearances to keep his team in the games. Well done, boys.
Andrew, Sam and I have all been really impressed with all of the boys efforts and developments over the season since August, there is some real character and personality with in this team, with all the boys having an excellent togetherness and are willing to work hard for eachother when it gets difficult on the training pitch and within games too. Absolutely brilliant group of boys and we couldn't be prouder of them.
Thank you to all of you guys for supporting us over the year, great to see the support you all provide the team no matter the weather.
Enjoy the break and your Saturday morning lie-ins.Cmon the Colts
