Friendly vs Hamilton YFC Whites - February 2026

Today we welcomed over Hamilton YFC Whites for another presason friendly and what a great test and game it really turned out to be for both teams. A very competitive game.

From a Clarkston point of view, our boys to a man have got stuck in. Their attitude, effort and energy was spot on today, could tell right from the off they were up for it. What was really pleasing to see was just after last nights session of working on moving the ball quickly through the thirds of the pitch using 2 touches and their skills, the  boys have completely bought it into it and took in into today's game.

We thought in the first half we were unlucky not to have scored more but even after conceding a couple of goals, the boys stuck at it and stayed in the game and not let it get to them. The second half was much better, the pressing high up the pitch was clear to see and really made a difference, creating turnovers in our favour. Even our defending looked more assured with some brave tackling and excellent saves for both of our keepers.Our overall play and some of combination passing from back to front was exceptional against a really good team.

Also another friendly where game time for players to develop and find they way on the pitch was the winner again, with some of the newer players looking like they are starting to settle into our team.

The opposition coaches POTM went to Brodie today, said he was absolutely solid at the back and his creativity from defence was really good. Coaches POTM went to the rest of the boys for their overall efforts. Well done to them all

Thanks to all you guys at the sides cheering us on, the boys really appreciate it and it really does help them out on the pitch to hear you cheering them on.
