Friendly vs Claremont Reds

We welcomed over Claremont Reds to Caldervale for a friendly match on a very rainy evening, but that didn't dampen the spirits of both teams as it turned out to be a very entertaining game, with both trying their best to impose themselves in the game.

From our point of view, all credit goes to our boys for playing some excellent attacking football, the attitude and effort shown was top class, they all really stuck to our playing principles and worked hard as a team. We saw some great individual and team goals scored, very brave defending and building out from the back with both goalkeepers making good saves and their distribution was really good too.

We are really starting to see the benefits of our training sessions being implemented into games now. You can really see the boys have gave the full buy in to what we're are trying to do and are enjoying themselves and getting more confident as the games come along, great to see.

Having friendly games is an opportunity to try out new ideas and different players in different positions, which helps the team and the players' individual development, we were very happy with the boys positive attitude to give it a go, with some of the ideas being very successful.
