Cumbernauld Colts Festival 2025

What a day !

Today, we visited the Cumbernauld Colts Festival, and what a great day our players, coaches, and parents have had, we couldn't have asked for better weather and to attend a well organised festival.

Over the day, we have played 5 games, and in every game, we have contested well with all of our players kicking on and maintaining the high standards we have seen so far this season already. The players' attitude and effort were top class. They really have each others back, and all have shown a strong desire to work hard for their team. Playing some really positive football. 

Festivals like this are a good opportunity to try out new ideas and different players in different positions, and if I'm honest, the players have took on the challenges, actually surprised us and have shown us different sides of their games that we never knew they had. Top stuff

What we are extremely impressed and very proud of, is that we have spent one session working on corners, and the boys have took it all in and have executed the majority of the corners we have had today extremely well with alot of our goals coming from them.

Today, we asked the referees to pick our POTM for every game we played and they were the captains for the following games, they chose

Game 1 - Caleb,
Game 2 - Harley,
Game 3 - Adam,
Game 4 - Oscar Brook
Game 5 - We had no ref but the the opposition team chose Leo.

Sam and I chose the players of the tournament for our team. These literally could have gone to any of the players and was a really difficult decision in the end. Sam chose Adam for his work rate going forward,  defending and some of his finishes were amazing. I chose Taryn for his attitude and effort. He has took everything on board the last couple of months and can really see the fruits of his positive mindset in his play now. Well done, boys.

Finally, thank you all for your support and for bringing your young players along, if we don't have you support we don't have these boys playing the way we do. We hope you have all enjoyed today as much as we did, if this is a taste of how this season is going to go, then we are all really looking forward to getting going.
